Action Beat are a noise / improv band in the mould of Sonic Youth and the Boredoms. They like to experiment with sound, but they´re canny enough to keep things pumping with some meaty big and bouncy beats, so people like me with a fairly low art noise threshold remain intrigued. Infact, the tracks on their debut album - about to be released on Southern - are more accessible than their press releases and myspace site would have you believe. For a band that is actually a rotating motley crew of available musicians (at their gigs, they generally feature 4 guitarists, some bassists and between 1-4 drummers) they´re suprisingly together. Some of the tunes - shock horror - even feature a vocal melody or two. If you´re partial to early Sonic Youth and are enjoying the contemporary heavy noise stylings of Besnard Lakes and Crystal Antlers, then this noise band from Bletchley will be right up your alley. Ader Rebell ist eine äußerst eindrucksvolle Combo, wenn auch bisherfür die Öffentlichkeit eher spärlich bekannt: Bis auf einen Beitragauf einem Schnapsidee
Records-Labelsampler gibt´s keine Plattenveröffentlichungen, im Internet waren lange
Zeit alles, wasman gefunden hat, ein paar auf youtube zubeklickende Demoaufnahmen und Live-Mitschnitte. Konzerte wurden bisher gezählte zweiabgehalten - die dafür ordentlich: Mit einer reduzierten Masse von dem, was man Ur-Energie nennen könnte, werden monumentaleKlangmassen nach vorne geschoben. Als Anhaltspunkte möge die Brutalität früher “Melvins” oder von “Mutter” dienen. Dahinterstecken die drei in Wien wohnhaften Herrschaften Franz Cavagno(Gitarre, Gesang), Jürgen Langenberger
